On August 21, 2017, for the first time in 99 years, a total solar eclipse will pass from west to east across the lower continental United States. More than 300 million people live within a day's drive of the narrow path of this eclipse, so this may be the most watched astronomical event in history.

Our new online guide shows you when and where to see this magnificent solar eclipse and gives you some tips about how to safely observe and image the eclipse with or without a telescope. Read the guide at this link.

So I based on this article I bought the road atlas from Agena, expecting it to have information on weather conditions, etc. Unfortunately I discovered it had much less than this interactive map. However, I can't really fault the atlas, as the mis-understanding was from this article and the fact that figures 5 and 6 are flipped. Thus, in the discussion of the atlas, it showed the weather information, leading me to believe that the atlas that Agena was selling (and promoting with this article) would have much more detailed information than the article itself. Unfortunately that's just not the case. Given the availability of Google maps on everything including my phone, that makes the atlas not even a neat novelty item.

At any rate, please fix the article.

    Thanks,

    Beo

Thanks for your catch, Beo. The figures (5&6) will be fixed shortly. As for the atlas, well, some of us old timers like a printed atlas instead of relying on a screen, especially if cell and data service is spotty in rural areas!
