Just reading about o.j.Simpsons release from prison which reminds me to rewatch Capricorn 1.indeed a classic although somewhat dated now.it's said to be based on the conspiracy theories that NASA faked landing on the moon.in Capricorn 1 the target is much more ambitious.... Mars!although I was pretty young at the time I always had my nose to the ground regarding space travel and can't remember hearing about fake moon landing theories.so is it a chicken and egg thing?what came first Capricorn 1 or the moon landing conspiracy theories? For the record I firmly believe humans have been to the moon!

    I don't believe O.J. Simpson's been to the Moon.

Interestingly the space suits in Capricorn 1 are that of the lunar type,Rodger Moore in Moonraker dons a similar one!,and from what I can make out the less hostile environment of Mars would require more flexible suits to protect the skin but during the day temperature extremes are not too bad, highs up to 20c!don't stay out at night as the temperature plummets to make Antarctica look sub tropical! I believe that the moon orbits in earths magnetic field so has so protection against solar and stellar radiation, Mars however does not although unlike Venus it does seem to have some patchy weak magnetic field.

I'm from Mars. I'll be waiting to "greet" them!

I got lost on my way to "greet" Cristoforo Colombo when they "discovered 'America'." Never Again!

I 'know' what happens next if they do Mars...

Looks a barren place .I,in the past, thought humans would settle on Mars but am not so sure now?even if we did I reckon that the red planet could only sustain a few hundred thousand and it would need resupply from earth.no until we develop the hyper drive were stuck all 6 billion, and going up,up and up,on earth!
