This has already been in the works for some time now but I wanted to see if there was a growing interest in being able to see our eyepiece database in filterable and sortable columns of eyepiece attributes and specs.

One such example of the usefulness of such a data table would be the ability to compare similar eyepieces by designed eye relief. The usefully came again to my attention when it was asked what would be good eyepieces for someone that wears glasses when observing.

Right now our eyepiece database, as it stands, allows for filtering by focal length, field of view, eyepieces series, and manufacturer. But it only displays the following columns Brand, Name, Rating (based on our review database), Number of Ratings.

Ideally I would like the ability to select additional attributes to displayed for eyepieces specifically. Allowing one to turn on and off columns as desired.

So my question to the community is, would there be any value/interest in moving along with this upgrade sooner than later? Do you think such a table would be valuable to others currently outside our community. Also what other features or data would you like to see in this type of data table.

I happen to be shopping right now for eyepieces suitable for use with eyeglasses in the 6 to 12 mm FL range. So being able to see what is available with eye relief of 17 mm longer eye relief at all price points and AFOV would be great!

Current filters are great but this criteria is not one of them.

I don't know if you happen to have it, or what the demand would be, but eyepiece weight would be great as well. Some of the heavier eyepieces can muck up scope balance, though this is a relatively minor quibble.

Yea that is something we can also include as a sortable attribute. I know its an occasional complaint for Agena customers when receiving an eyepiece that is too heavy for their current setup.

I like this idea! It should have a proverbial 'place at the table.'

I recently ran across another one that is lacking from the world of telescope-descriptions. This being the percentage of the central-obstruction that a secondary-mirror is taking up in scopes these are related with - SCT's, MAK's, etc.
