He has a good record too. :(
I went to agena and ordered a GSO diagonal to ease my pain. LOL
Oh well. I really didn't need this eyepiece anyway. Too much time on my hands recently.

What is it? Looks like an old Meade.

Was advertised as a new Meade 4000. It was a very old Meade Plossl. Looks like it was stored in a cellar.

It'll be interesting to see how he (Seller) handles it. I only have $19 bucks in it. Honestly, I really didn't need it anyway. I have a f13 scope currently with:
    Plossl: 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, 40mm.
Upgrading my barlow, probably makes more sense. Mine is plastic and the country of origin will not even claim it. I suspect china.

It might be an old Japanese Meade Plossl (the Chinese ones are just as good though). What's it like to look through? You may be able to clean the field and eye lenses with something like Baader cleaning fluid.

Meade drawtubes are smooth (no undercut) and chromed brass. If the baffling isn't too bad and the thread is OK it might be worth cannibalising. I think the drawtube on one of my Celestron Omni EP's was salvaged from an old Meade 4000. Meade eyecups and dustcaps can come in handy as well.

No unfortunately, the threads are trashed. Looks like someone put it up wet for years. I've already got a return label from him, but no apology. Not that I expected one. No problem. I'll ship it back and that's that.

Well, at least you can return it. Caveat emptor!

    Oh yuck!

I'd be tempted to enclose something else along with that EP in the return-package.....
