With the current eclipse frenzy nearing its peak, I thought I would post these images of the 2011 lunar eclipse. A long time friend who is like an older brother to me called me a couple of nights ago. While we were talking the subject turned to my crashed computer and how I was able to recover my current images from this website. He told me he still had images I took of a lunar eclipse and that he would send them to me. How great is that!?

I took these pics afocally using the Orion XT-6 Dob I used to own, using a long gone Sony pocket camera. I hope you like them.

    1 - Pre eclipse.jpg
The moon just before the eclipse started.

    2 - Third eclipse.jpg
The lunar eclipse about one third of the way along.

    3 - Half eclipse.jpg
The eclipse about half way along.

    4 - Three quarter eclipse.jpg
Now it starts getting good, at about three quarters of the way.

    5 - Almost full eclipse.jpg
The almost full lunar eclipse, the moon looking like a giant olive or a ring.

    6 - Full eclipse.jpg
Here it is, the full lunar eclipse. My family was outside with me looking at nature's spectacle that night.
