I note that when I go under the explore menu to forums and then to new posts, the listing that is presented doesn't contain many new posts. This is how I typically catch up on new posts. I do note that in the welcome screen the little window on the right does display recent posts, and that appears to work. Hoping you can tweak the html to get the explore menu item working.

    Thanks,

    Tim

    Thanks for the report Tim.

I just want to clear up the difference between New Posts and Recent Posts, before continuing with this issue.

The new posts section is to show any posts that you have not read while logged in. If nothing is showing and you have viewed all the latest topics, then it is working as designed.

Recent posts and the box on the right side of the screen will show a list of posts that have been made whether you have seen them or not.

Please, let us know if it is not functioning as I just described. If it functions as described I can discuss a new name with the team to make it more clear. Rename New Posts to Unread Posts or something similar.

@Luling_Skies just to add on top of what @StaringAtStars has stated about new posts there is also a Recent Posts page. This may be more on the lines of what you are looking for in terms of functionality. When on the New Posts page on the top right above the list itself you should see 2 links "Mark Forums Read" and Recent Posts. The recent posts page will contain a list of threads in chronological order of their latest post. If you are logged in and have not read that particular thread you will see a blue circle to the right of the avatar and the title of the thread should be bold.

There is also Recent Activity list which will go through all user activity in chronological order whether you have seen it or not. The only problem is this list additionally shows users who have liked a post along with individual users profile posts which many of you do not currently use. You can view Recent Activity by going through the explore menu all the way at the bottom goto Members > Recent Activity

We can look into adding a link to the Recent Posts within the explore menu as a quicker way to jump the list directly. Let us know if this is more in line of what you were looking for or if you have any other suggestions.

    George,
The recent activity list is what I was looking for - kind of. It is a list of threads with recent posts. It would be handy if that was a menu option under Forums or Explore. As for new versus recent posts, what prompted my original inquiry was that I saw posts in the "Latest Forum Replies" window that weren't in the New posts listing and I had not read them. Not sure if I made a mistake or if something isn't quite working right.
