Just think this could be a little interesting and a walk down memory lane.

Do any of you have one of your first or older photos of a particular planet/DSO? If so have you taken a recent photo of the same planet/DSO?

    I'd love to see them!

I'm no astrophotographer by any length but I imagine it being a little fun by taking my recent photo of the moon and comparing it to a photo years from now, taken with better gear. I'm more into astronomy for the awe of observing than preserving an image of the moment. I'll leave that to those with more talent and patience.

Here's my very first film astrophoto from 1978, shot through my Tasco (Towa) 80x1200 with a camera I made myself that used Kodak 126 format cartridges:

Same scope, but with my first 35mm camera - a Pentax K-1000 (manual everything!):

My 1962 Sears 6336 is 15+ years older than the Tasco, and my Orion StarShoot II is cheaper than the K-1000, but technology makes a big difference!

Ahhh...I recall the frustrations and complications of trying to take long exposure pictures using film cameras back in the 70's. Don't think I kept any of those pics but yours look much better than mine as I recall!
