    I just opened my new 178MM Cooled and found that it has a pair of USB connections instead of the guider connection shown in the promotion pictures. Are these USB-2 or 3 and what is their purpose?

    You should have a st4 guider port , a usb2, 3 and a 12 v for the cooler. If not go to the ZWO site / forum and explain what you have , they will work the problem out. The usb power the camera/ 12v @2.5 amp + adapter cable & above is required to power the fan.
