      4.0 26mm Explore Scientific 62- 1.25"

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

I purchased this eyepiece mostly to get a slightly larger field of view in my small Maksutov. The eye relief is very comfortable, but aside from the slightly larger field of view, I don't see a huge improvement at the edge of the field of view compared to a 25mm Celestron X-Cel. It's better of course in the Mak f/13, than my small dobsonian at f8. I'm keeping it, but if I were doing it over again, I'd just get the X-CEL 25MM or Meade HD 5000 25mm to save money and a little weight.

      5.0 26mm Explore Scientific 1.25"

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

I found this to be another great eyepiece from Explore Scientific. I prefer the 62 degree and 68 degree FOV to the wider ones for the sake of weight and relaxed ease of use without having to move my eye around to take in the field of view. This one feels like a 2 inch eyepiece in a 1.25 inch body. I have 2 others in this series and they are equally great. When you factor in the price, they are a bargain; but regardless of the price they are well made, nicely finished and optically superb.

      4.0 pretty good

      Pros:

      Cons:

      Comments:

A lot of the outer field is out of focus in f/4.6 scope, but works great in longer f/6 or more scopes, pinpoint stars to edge and dark sky background makes it a worthy pick against more costly eyepieces.
