Manufacturer Description
Vibration Isolation Pads are highly desirable in sensitive imaging applications. Meade isolation pads # 895 reduce typical telescope-tripod vibration damping times to less than one second. These consist of a hard molded tripod leg cup isolated in the center of a hard molded ground cup by an elastomeric vibration-absorbing material. Meade Isolation Pads fit between the bottom of the tripod legs and the ground to isolate the tripod from ground contact and absorb the vibrations. Place one pad under each tripod leg. Supplied as a set of three pads.
Product carries full one year Meade factory limited warranty (within US/Canada only).

Jun 5, 2011Get 1 set of these if you have a tripod
Pros:Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:I wasn't sure if I should get one set of these until I saw them in action: a friend of mine bought these and made me take a look at Jupiter through his 8 inch telescope.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Without them, manual focusing would make the OTA move for several seconds, but after inserting these under the legs, the trembling was noticeably reduced to just over 1 second. Note that they are not perfect, they won't fix all your problems, but they do a pretty nice job (that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5).
Not only will these help when focusing, but are also efficient against wind and even reducing floor movement from nearby walkers or even traffic outside your observatory - and they make an excellent base for your tripod legs in the field, preventing them from getting buried.
If you suffer from any of these problems, get one set of these ASAP. They'll make a huge difference. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
