For those of you who may not be aware Focus Astronomy and Woodland Hills are hosting a Solar Day event this weekend. I'll probably make my way over there to check out the event myself. For those who happen to be in the area and who want to try out the latest offerings from Coronado, Daystar, and Lunt this would be a great opportunity. According to their site the following items will be on display.

    Items on Display:
    • Coronado PST
    • Coronado Solarmax 60
    • Coronado Solarmax 90 Double Stack
    • Daystar Quark (Chromosphere)
    • Daystar Quark Calcium-H
    • Lunt LS50THa
    • Lunt LS60THa
    • Lunt B1200 Calcium-K
    • Lunt Solar Wedge
    More to be announced...

You may find more information on their site here http://www.focusonastronomy.org/solar-day-woodland-hills.

If anybody ends up showing up to this event I'll be there maybe between 11:30am -2:00 pm. Just come up and say hi, I'll probably be wearing the same "Judoka" hat that I am wearing in my avatar photo.

So if you happen to be in the area you would know that it was pretty cloudy today especially in the valley. I ended up taking a little road trip instead taking the coast highway all the way to Oxnard had lunch then went to Woodland Hills to say hello. I ended seeing Kevin LeGore from Focus Astronomy and @drD (Daniel Mounsey) of Woodland Hills and http://www.doctorsreviews.com. I had to get going only stayed and chatted for about and hour but the sun peeked through before I left and I was able to look through Kevin's Coronado on my way out.

Kevin brought along his personal meteorite collection which I have to say was pretty badass. I've posted some additional pictures in the media gallery.
