      5.0 Snapshots Of The Universe

      Pros:

Fantastic photographs; Useful star charts; Great reference guide.

      Cons:

      None.

      Comments:

After purchasing several books showing Hubble telescope photos, I really didn't need another pretty coffee table book. However, this book is a far cry from this genre. Robert Gendler and Sky & Telescope magazine teamed up to produce this wonderful guide that can be useful for any amateur astronomer, regardless of where they are on the learning curve.

The book shows Gendler's awesome photos of 120 of the most striking deep sky objects, arranging them in order of the seasons in which they occur. In addition, there are numerous star charts and coordinates for finding your way around the night sky. Words just can't do justice in describing the images of the selected celestial bodies......you just have to see them for yourself!

If you're looking for a guide that is useful and that will inspire you to go out and explore the heavens above, then this book may be just what you need to get you started.
