      5.0 Very good eyepiece!

      Pros:

      Great for casual observing; Good eye relief;
      Sharp across the entire field

      Cons:

      None

      Comments:

      This is a very good eyepiece for general observation at low power. I tested the eyepiece on both my 100mm f/6 Achromatic refractor and on a 102mm f/13.2 Mak-Cass. It performed admirably on both scopes. I tried it on a small selection of objects including nebula, several open clusters, and on the moon. I must say that I was quite impressed that it was completely sharp across the entire field on both scopes.

      Color was quite good and I could not detect any noticable flaws. Mechanically, it appears to be well made.

      The only eyepieces that I could directly compare it to was a GSO 2" SuperView 42mm and an old Celestron (Japanese) 1 1/4" 40mm Kellner. Compared to the SuperView, the images were nearly identical, except the Plossl had, of course, a narrower AFOV. Otherewise, they seemed fairly well matched. Also as expected, the Kellner gave a definitely brighter image, but was just not quite as sharp at detail as the Plossl. Eye relief was also very good on the Plossl.

      I would highly recommend this eyepiece for the price, especially if you don't need the extra AFOV.
