Manufacturer Description
Standard 2" Prime Focus T-adapter fits on any telescope that uses a 2" eyepiece focuser for prime focus photography. New smooth sided barrel version.
To use, insert the 2" barrel into your diagonal or telescope, attach your D/SLR camera to the male T-thread (via a T-ring that is specific to your camera; not included), and you are ready to take photos as prime focus with your telescope or spotting scope. In this set-up, the optical chain will be:
Telescope/Diagonal > Prime Focus T-adapter > T-ring > D/SLR camera
The 2" barrel of this adapter is threaded to accept standard 2" filters so you can use your favorite photography filters as well. Precision machined from aluminum and black anodized. The adapter weighs 1.6oz and its total length is 1.65" (42mm).
The use of this adapter is not limited to D/SLR cameras. It can also be used to image with webcams and video cameras. For this, you will need to attach your webcam to the male T-thread on the adapter via a webcam-to-T thread adapter. Similarly, you can connect a video camera via a C mount-to-T thread adapter. This adapter cannot be used with point-and-shoot cameras.

Gloss Interior Surface
Pros: Cons: Comments:Purchased 2019 03 18: Typical Blue Fireball quality in finish & machining- unfortunately the interior surfaces are so polished it is not suitable for use with a camera. An ill conceived bevel in the interior base near the T thread exacerbates the problem. Only item from them I'd like to send back.

Mar 19, 2019Just a little expensive. But,
Pros: Cons: Comments:Just a little expensive. But, I've been buying telescope accessories since the 1970's. Product worked fine.

Nov 21, 2018of Blue Fireball T Thread Camera Adapter for Prime Focus Photography -
Pros: Cons: Comments:Agena Astro is a great astronomy products provider. This T Thread Camera Adapter is superior in quality and machining. It fit perfectly with the Blue Fireball T Thread Spacer Ring with 50mm Extension # S-T50 I also purchased and both fit great with my camera. Fast service and shipping!

Feb 3, 2018Excellent!
Pros: Cons: Comments:This is a neat little device that was vital for connecting my Luminos 2" Barlow (using the nose piece end) to my camera. Essential for connecting the threaded world (cameras etc) with the "sliding" world (i.e. barlows, diagonals etc).

Dec 12, 2017Blue Fireball T thread camera adapter - 2"
Pros: Cons: Comments:It eliminated the vignetting the I experienced with my 1.25" adapter just as I hoped it would do.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
I was amazed how quickly that it arrived after I made the order, which has always been the case when ordering from Agena Astro Products. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Mar 9, 2017Blue fireball as always, makes great stuff
Pros: Cons: Comments:I needed a 2" to T thread adapter for my SBIG STF-8300 camera. Looking around at numerous vendors, they are either too expensive, too short or grooved. Perfect match at 30-40% below other competitors prices.

Sep 5, 2014I would buy this product again.
Pros:Easy to Use
Cons: Comments:Used to convert a filter wheel with a 1.25-inch nosepiece to a 2-inch nosepiece. Works much better at securing the filter wheel to a telescope's drawtube. A much stronger connection results.

Dec 1, 2013Glossy internal surfaces create problems
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons:Glossy Internal Surfaces,Fits Too Tight
Comments:I use the adapter in combination with Blue Fireball Eyepiece Holder (2"). The adapter fits uncomfortably tight into the holder.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
Internal surface of the adapter painted semigloss is very reflective and creates numerous glare on astrophotos. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Aug 21, 2013Fine Build Quality, still doesn't work
Pros:Lightweight,Compact,Easy to Use
Cons:Does Not Seat Properly
Comments:The build quality per se is fine. Nice materials, good anodization. My problem is that the design is flawed for both my 2" accessories. The upper 'shoulder' above the relief cut and closest to the camera is too narrow for my compression rings to get a bite on it.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
Every time I tighten the set screw, the compression ring slips off the shoulder and down into the relief cut. If I back it out a bit to try and use the relief cut as a pressure point, the fact that it's a sub diameter results in the camera body being cocked a few degrees.
I've fought this thing for some time now, not happy with this. A design change broadening the upper shoulder by scooting the relief cut closer to the other end is warranted in my opinion. I'm sure there are setups where this isn't the case, but mine isn't one of them and by golly I didn't make my own 2" diagonals, Meade made one and Orion the other, so other folks out there will run into the same thing. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com

Feb 24, 2012Surprised me
Pros:Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Compact,Accurate,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:I first thought it was way too light to be strong. Not at all the case. It is very light, but very strong with excellent quality threads on both ends. No need for anything heavier for my applications.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Nov 4, 2011Great!
Pros:Compact,Accurate,Strong Construction,Easy to Use,Lightweight
Cons: Comments:Blue Fireball adapters are high-quality, well made and finished, and the price is right. I have several different models. You can't go wrong with these.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Oct 28, 2011Good product for the money
Pros:Strong Construction,Well built quality
Cons:A little snug fitting
Comments:The Blue Fireball 2"->T2 adapter is good solid product; however, it has a very snug fit... a little too snug. I had to use sandpaper and "file" it down a little to make it fit in my telescope's 2" receiver. Not a major problem, just had to remove the paint on the 2" nosepiece...

Jan 12, 2011Not so good with Vixen ed80sf
Pros:Strong Construction
Cons:Unstable
Comments:Adapter seems to have a good build quality. However, the recessed groove is just a tiny bit too far away from the serrated ring, and the raised lip just catches on the locking screws on my focuser, causing the adapter to be unstable. Because of this, I have to pull the adapter out a bit from the focuser, but then, again, it isn't very stable, even when the screws are tightened down. I compared the lip and recessed groove to the one on my GSO 2" diagonal, and the lip is approximately 1/16" - 1/8" wider, just enough to catch my locking screws.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
Also, just a side note, the inside of the adapter is a very shiny black, not flat black. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Jan 3, 2011Solid connection with minimal back focus
Pros:Strong Construction,Compact,Lightweight,Low Profile
Cons: Comments:I use this to connect my filter wheel to my 2" focuser for planetary webcam photography. It works very well, is very stable, and uses very little back focus. I'm very happy with this purchase.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesThis review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
Apr 30, 2010BIG RESULTS FROM A COMPACT PRODUCT!
Pros:Compact,Light weight,Accurate,Strong Construction
Cons:None
Comments:This product allowed me to use my telescope as a lens. Its wide 2 inch opening lets my camera get as much light from my 2 inch focuser as possible. It made my hobby of astrophogoraphy much easier. It is lightweight and compact, but very strong. It handles the weight of my camera without any difficulty. In my opinion, a must have for astrophotography.
