Product Info
Manufacturer Description
Collimate your Catadioptric or Newtonian reflector style telescopes without tools!
It's easy...just grab a Bob's Knob collimation thumbscrew and turn. You can even do it while looking through the eyepiece on most scopes. These thumbscrews are also much easier to use with gloves on. And perhaps most importantly, you'll never drop that pesky little Allen wrench or screwdriver into the grass again. Installation is a snap with the included instructions, and you can undo the modification at any time.
Part: C11metfst
Fits: Celestron 11" (28 cm) f/10 SCT versions (metal or carbon fiber tube) with metric thread factory collimation screws and "Trifid" rotary cover Fastar secondary housing. Factory collimation screws are black Phillips. These knobs will fit the C11 with EdgeHD optics. They will also fit the C11 with Starizona Hyperstar if the collimation screws have metric threads.
Knobs: Black plastic, 10 mm (3/8") diameter
Threads: Stainless steel
Notes:
1. These telescopes can have factory collimation screws with either standard or metric threads. Most models with black Phillips collimation screws have metric threads. There are a few black Phillips screws with standard threads. See our hints for more information.
2. The item listed on this page is the one with the metric (non-standard) thread. The standard thread version of this knob (Bob's Knobs item # C11stdfst) is sold separately.
3. The factory dust cover will fit normally with Bob's Knobs installed.
4. The rotary secondary cover must remain open when the knobs are installed. The cover is cosmetic only and will not affect operation of the telescope.

Bobs knobs
Pros:Allows More Accurate Coll,Easy to Use,Accurate,Strong Construction,Make Collimating Easy
Cons:None
Comments:I never was willing to buy these knobs then my Phillips screws on a new C11 stripped. I thought I would try Bobs knobs. I wish I would have started using these years ago. They are easy to install but the best thing is they make collimating my C11 easy and fast. I am able to easily fine tune collimation of my optics much more accurately than with the Phillips screws that came on my ota. My stars in my images are much sharper than before. Don't put off buying Bobs knobs like I did. They are worth every penny and will improve your viewing.
