Celestron's new AC Adapter, made exclusively for our CGEM and CGE Pro mounts, is designed to conveniently provide continuous power to your mount when an AC outlet is available. The barrel connector on the DC plug threads directly onto the mount's power jack and prevents power-offs due to inadvertent cable pulls. It delivers up to 5 Amp @ 12 VDC, which gives you plenty of power to run our biggest mounts loaded with heavy equipment. In addition, the switching-type AC-to-DC power adapter provides more power with less weight than a transformer-style power adapter.

A “must have” for the backyard
Pros: Cons: Comments:This adapter really should just be included with Celestron GEM-style mounts. I nearly always use my telescope near an AC outlet, and this adapter provides the long duration, reliable power that I need. (I have a Lithium Powertank and Pro for the field).
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
It might be odd to write that a power adapter needs instructions, or maybe a bill of materials. This came with an additional extension cable, and at first I wasn’t sure if it was meant to adapt between the various mount models. No, it just seems to be an extension, which is kind of nice to have. It is a bonus that the extension also has the threaded lock ring to keep it securely attached.
The included document (slip of paper) only mentions compatibility with CGE, although it works fine with my AVX.This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
