Incorrect info in heading above.
Pros:Very sharp, wide field, good contrast. Not terribly expensive. Good eye relief.
Cons:Not threaded for filters.
Comments:Edmund still sells this eyepiece in its Industrial Catalog for $225. This is a 6-element eyepiece. It is composed of 3 achromats, hence 6 elements.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
The eyepiece prototype called for 68 degrees, but the production model has an 82 degree field. It is very sharp in the center - the sharpest I have ever used - with good edge correction in mid to longer focal ratio scopes. It also seems to work well in any Newtonian. It is a 2" eyepiece with a whopping 42.7mm field stop. Incredibly wide field, good contrast and good eye relief of 18mm.Sort by
