Manufacturer Description
GSO's Super-Plossl eyepieces have been some of our most popular sellers over the years. Users will experience incredible views without breaking the bank or impinging on your telescope's balance. They represent what is perhaps the best buy today for astronomers on a budget or for beginners. But don't be fooled by their low prices - these might well turn out to be all the eyepieces you will ever need!
The GSO Super-Plossls are available in a 1.25" barrel size and 9 different focal lengths ranging from 4mm to 40mm. The 4mm, 6mm and 9mm models are great for high power planetary and lunar observation. The 12mm and 15mm are perfect intermediate focal lengths, performing well on both deep-sky and planetary subjects. The 20mm and 25mm models would be excellent choices for low power scanning of open star clusters and viewing larger galaxies. The 32mm and 40mm models offer a wide field and are superb for wide field scanning, detailed observations of large diffuse subjects or as a finder eyepiece.
Features:
- All eyepieces are fully multicoated (FMC) for maximum light transmission
- High quality lenses provide the best-possible sharpness all over the field of view
- Blackened lens edges reduce light scattering and improve contrast
- Fold-down rubber eyecups to keep out stray light
- Comfortable eye relief at all but the shortest focal lengths (As in all Plossl eyepieces, eye relief can get tight at the shorter focal lengths but this is design constraint, not a fault of these eyepieces)
- Includes two end caps

Jul 23, 2015Hit or Miss Coatings
Pros:Lightweight,Compact
Cons:Coatings,Eyepiece Design
Comments:The first sample I received was missing a coating on a surface. I returned it and was sent another. Although better, that same lens surface was not coated nearly as well as the other surfaces.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? No
I like 25mm Plossls that have the ocular nearly as large in diameter as the barrel, because this helps with eye relief. The GSO 25mm design is comparatively smallish. However, this does not mean all the GSO Plossl line are unfavorable. I have the 20mm and it is excellent. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com

Jan 23, 2015Used with Celestron 130eq
Pros:Strong Construction,Easy to Use,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:I only have the stock 10mm and 20mm that came with my telescope to compare it with but this EP is a huge step up. Nice eye relief, makes finding objects in the sky so much easier. You really notice all the light pollution as the sky now looks grey compared to the stock EPs.

Aug 16, 2014Good for my 8'' dobsonian
Pros:Quality Lenses,Easy to Use,Accurate
Cons: Comments:I bought this eyepiece for my 8" handmade dobsonian. It has a good eye relief, bright view and quality lenses. For a low price eyepiece, it has more than I expected.

Mar 4, 2012Most versatile EP I own
Pros:Quality Lenses,Easy to Use,Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons: Comments:This is my favorite EP. It gives very clear views in my scope (102x800 achro). It works very well with a barlow lens also.

Feb 26, 2012Great eyepiece at a nice price
Pros:Large field of view,Good value,Sharp images
Cons: Comments:I got the 1.25 inch GSO 25mm Plossl as an upgrade/replacement for the 20mm eyepiece I got with my Celestron AM114EQ telescope. The images it provides are sharp and vivid. Sure, it's not a TeleVue, but it will definitely represent an inexpensive upgrade over the stock eyepieces typically packaged with beginner telescopes.

Jun 1, 2011Fantastic for the price
Pros:Quality Lenses,Strong Construction,Accurate
Cons:None
Comments:This eyepiece was purchased with other GSO eyepieces to complete a set. I can honestly say that for the price you pay, you receive a quality eyepiece that provides exceptional viewing, the targets are clear and precise. Much better quality than the eyepieces generally included with some manufacturers telescopes. Thanks Agena.

Nov 8, 2009Solid performer
Pros:Compact,Accurate,Strong Construction,Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:The 25mm GSO plossl is a great all around EP. It is solid and well made. The optics are crisp to the edge. The ep work fine in my f4.5 scope. Well worth the money.

Aug 28, 2009Great eyepiece 25mm GSO super plossl
Pros:Solid build, quality images, no distortion
Cons:None
Comments:I bought this eyepiece to use in two different scope. One is an 11 inch SCT and the other is 4.5 inch table top dob(very fast scope). This eyepiece performs great in both. It is crisp to the edge and show great contrast on Jupiter. I use it to view clusters with my big scope and use at as a finder in my small scope. I have a few wide angle lens that just don't work as well in my small fast scope, but this one is top notch. It is well worth the money.

Nov 19, 200825 mm GSO plossl
Pros:Clear and bright to edge
Cons:Not wider field
Comments:The GSO plossls seem to be well known in the Astronomy community. They are usually described as "having the best bang for the buck". However, I was unsure how well they would do in a relatively "fast scope" of F/5. Secondly, it was hard to tell if it would be any noticeable improvement over the decent 25mm plossl that came with my dobsonian. However, Agena Astro Products carried this plossl and I actually purchased one from their "clearance" page for even less. The first test was the edge sharpness and for this the Hyades provided fairly bright stars across a broad field. Comparing it to the earlier 25mm plossl showed very little difference in the size, shape or brightness of the stars. However, the field of view (Fov) was larger in the GSO. Switching to the Orion nebula in only fair light polluted skies, I was able to see a little more detail with the GSO but the stars in the trapezium were about equally split and I could determine that the GSO had about a 10 pct. wider fov. On this focal length then, I would rate the optics as good or very good and an excellent value.

Dec 20, 200625 mm GSO plossl
Pros:Clear and bright to the edge in an F/5 scope for only a few dollars.
