Intes 2.4x Barlow
Pros:Sharp optics. A keeper.
Cons:Overly snug tube. Captive screw doesn't want to stay captive.
Comments:I don't know if this is the same as the 2x barlow, but the 2.4x barlow is better known, at least to me.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
This was the first quality barlow lens that I acquired, as part of a Russian 5" Mak-Cass scope package. I compared it to a 2x GTO barlow, and eventually gave the GTO away.
When I sold the Mak, I had to sell the barlow with it. But I have since then replaced the barlow with another of the same.
Only minuses: the lens tube is a bit snug. An eyepiece might have to be worked in and out. Also the captive screw that holds the eyepiece more snug has a very fine line between being loose enough to remove the eyepiece and the screw falling out altogether. Quirky Russian mechanics?
5 stars for optics, minus 1 star for mechanics.Sort by
