Manufacturer Description
The Meade #126 2x 1.25" Barlow is a high quality, compact unit and Meade's most commonly recommended barlow lens. It doubles the power of any 1.25" eyepiece without adding a very long extension between the telescope and the eyepiece, while maintaining excellent image quality. This barlow can be used in the 1.25" focuser tube or star diagonal of any type or brand of telescope for true 2x magnification.
The precise corrections of this barlow for spherical and chromatic aberrations at all photo visual wavelengths results in sharp, high resolution performance on telescopes of any optical design. The barlow lens elements are multi-coated for maximum image contrast and light transmission. Only 71.5mm (2.8'') long, the #126 works well with any telescope accepting 1.25'' eyepieces, even those with limited focus range, and maintains high image quality. Insert the #126 barlow into a star diagonal for 2x magnification or insert the diagonal into the #126 for approximately 3x magnification. 22mm clear aperture.
Manufacturer part number: 07273LF

Better than a Telescope's Pack-In
Pros: Cons: Comments:This is much better in build and optical quality than what you would get included in a Telecope Package. Definitely replace the one you got with your scope with this one.

Apr 20, 2019Meade 2x Barlow
Pros: Cons: Comments:This inexpensive lens works perfectly in my inexpensive starter scope, the OneSky sold through Astronomers Without Borders. It works very well and meets my needs.

Oct 10, 2018Very Handy and better than before!
Pros: Cons: Comments:The latest I bought has a nice step and blackened ribbing at just the right place.Saves be a little internal touch-up. Contrast is excellent. The cell up front can be screwed into eyepiece filter threads to improve field edges in short scopes / simple eyepieces. Great image and very handy.

Aug 14, 2018good enough for the price
Pros: Cons: Comments:Plus, achromatic negative lens unscrews from the barrel like an eyepiece filter - good for using it in different optical configurations. Lock screw good. Minus - a little tight on the insertion fit for some eyepieces.

Jun 16, 2018Works well, compact, affordable
Pros: Cons: Comments:This is a good Barlow that doesn’t affect the image except to amplify it. No distortions or light scatter are added. It’s nice and compact and doesn’t cost a fortune.

Sep 10, 2014I would buy the product for twice the cost

Dec 10, 2009Useful basic barlow
Pros:Low price & high quality
Cons:No cap for top end
Comments:I got this shortly after I got my scope to double my focal length choices at a minimal cost. It does not degrade images at all; contrast stays nice and sharp the same as if you are using an eyepiece alone. I like the "shorty" style as it makes it easier to fit into the eyepiece case. My only complaint is that it did not come with a top cap, but I just use an old 35mm film canister
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? YesFeb 17, 2009Nice barlow
Pros:Quality Lenses
Cons: Comments:I got this Barlow years ago and I always wanted a TeleVue Powermate, last RTMC I got the 2.5 powermate, it costs 4 times the price of the Barlow that I already had, and sadly only a little visual difference.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Now that I have both, the one I use the most is the Meade Barlow because on public events I don't want all the people trying to move the telescope by the eyepiece.
If I had the opportunity to look at the PM before, I wouldn't buy it and be happier with my Meade Barlow wich is excellent by itself. This review was provided courtesy of AgenaAstro.com
