Nice optics; great value for the money; excellent build quality

Not enough US dealers; low power wide angle eyepieces would be nice

I have had these binos for about a month. Previous binos owned include Fujinon 16x70, various 20x80s, Canon 15x50IS and many, many others. Right off the bat I noticed the quality of these binos. They are built to last and are very nice to display in any room in your house. I did not purchase the finder that is optional with this scope as I just don't see the need.

Now for the optics. Very bright for their size; brighter than the Canon, and just about as bright as the Fujinon. Pinpoint stars to about 80% out. The Canon and the Fujinon are pinpoint to about 95% out. But remember, these Miyauchis have a very nice 3 degree FOV at 22X. Contrast is high - not as high as the Canon or the Fujinon but very close and the Miyauchi can see slightly deeper into space. When observing Jupiter the views were sharper than in the Canon and I was able to just make out two bands on the planet - WOW. I have also observed the Moon and was only able to detect the slightest amount of false color and that surprised me. I was expecting to see more CA. Overall the 45 degree viewing angle makes these binos a winner and the quality can't be beat for the price. Update. 8/15/07 I can now say with confidence(after further observing) that these binos have more contrast on the planets than either the Fujis or the Canon's.
