A good scope for the beginner
Pros:900mm, light grab and go scope
Cons:Spherical mirror, Rack-and-pinion focuser
Comments:This was my first true telescope, a very capable scope for a beginner. I have used the scope for planetary, lunar, and Messier object viewing. My favorite magnifications are 120x and lower. Higher magnifications will show a larger, less detailed object. Planetary contrast is good, it is possible to see a few of Jupiter's bands, Saturn's rings and the Cassini Division, and Mar's dark area. Portability is great - far better than my other higher priced telescopes. Rough polar alignment is easy, but to get a better alignment requires some work. I would recommend this scope to those on a budget. Some objects viewed: Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, M42, M43, M33, M92, M13, M57, M27, M110, M31, and comets.
