This really is the one to use
Pros:Spectacular contrast and clarity; A really big view with the ability to see it.
Cons:Might be large for your scope; Not a popular choice.
Comments:I know that each of us has our own right feeling about an EP. I have bought and sold many wide field eyepieces looking for just the right one. Here is my take. The 40mm Pentax XW is as close as I can get to perfection. I have a 40mm Paragon and have had a 31mm T5 Nagler. I keep the Paragon for its light weight, et al.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
They all have exquisite views in their own marketing data. I have had memorable views with them all. But I have constantly gone to the 40mm XW again and again to show others and myself how good it is. This is the EP that allows a novice to finally understand what you are explaining to them. No blackouts, No kidney beaning, just a pure and crisp, high contrast, unimaginable sight of the stars that will bring anyone back again and again. The contrast and edge correction is spectacular. Yes, I will probably own another 31T5 before long for my eyes, but to appreciate the sky and to share it well requires the 40XW.Sort by
