      4.0 Skywatcher finder scope

      Pros:

Nice construction, Good optics, Great for this size of finder scope

      Cons:

      None

      Comments:

This is a nice little finder scope came with my 8" dob. I can say that I have no problem using this guy and I'm not replacing him. The finder makes it easy to locate clusters and planets. I am impressed with optics which provide crisp views. It is the right size of finder scope for this dob, not cheap like you get with department store telescopes. Definitely recommended!

      4.0 A good value straight-through finder

      Pros:

      Good value, nice big optics.

      Cons:

None if you don't mind using a straight-through finder.

      Comments:

We got this finder with our new 8 inch dob. Optically, this finder performs very well, enabling us to see many of the deep sky objects that we are looking for even before going to the eyepiece of the main scope (especially at a dark location). For those who prefer to use a straight-through finder, I would highly recommend the performance-to-cost ratio of this finder.

We ultimately switched out this finder for a right-angle finder, however; we were having trouble locating things that are high overhead due to the contortions required (and subsequent neck strain).

If you prefer a straight-through finder, and you're on a budget, then I recommend this finderscope.
