Steady / AltAz Mount
Pros:Steady, sturdy, well made, very functional
Cons:No longer made(?) - hard to find
Comments:I needed a simple, steady, portable mount for a new AT-80 refractor. I didn't want motorized, nor go-to.
Bottom Line: Would you recommend this item? Yes
Did a fair amount of searching about and talking with people. The Vixen Icarus D was THE one. Steady wooden legs, quick to set-up, easy and intuitive to use. Smooth cable controls. Smooth operation across the sky.
Just the thing for a grab-n-go outfit. For what I wanted it does an excellent job.Sort by
